School of Creative Communication

FIRST is an anthology of creative writing produced by students at the University of Canberra.

Students have the opportunity to submit creative work for consideration for publication to this anthology each year. Interested students also have the opportunity to work on the small editorial committee alongside teaching staff, experienced in editing and publishing, who act as guides and mentors. In this environment students have the chance of producing a professional anthology of quality work, increasing their skills base and knowledge about the publishing industry.

First is published by the School of Creative Communication, University of Canberra, under the University of Canberra imprint. Previously published under the title Analecta No.1 in 1993 and Analecta No.2 in 1994, the first edition of First was published in 1995.
