graduate scriptwriter pitching TV series in NZ

Jordi Kerr (graduated 2005) is currently pitching her three X 1 hour tv mini series "Red Sand" at the Conspiracy II Sci-Fi Fiction Convention in Wellington New Zealand .

Jordi won the opportunity to pitch by sending a 25 word pitch to a pre-convention competition and "Red Sand" was one of six hopefuls chosen from Australia and New Zealand.

"Red Sand" is sci-fi drama shot through with comedy, pathos and action.

Jordi wrote the first episode "Red Sand" as her 3rd year Creative Project in the Bachelor of Creative Writing as well as developing story outlines for the other two eps.

Here's the pitch she delivered to TV producer Matt Carter on Sunday:
Peregrine is trapped in a desert world with a nine-year-old girl who doesn't know she's dead. Their world is being destroyed by rogue Guardian Blaise, and they are the only one's with the power to stop him.

And here's her pitch that caught the attention of the judges and won her the spot:
Peregrine is fighting to survive in a world he never knew existed, with a nine year old girl he’s never met, against an enemy more potent than they could ever have imagined.
