Not only are students unskilled in evaluating the contribution of their peers, but in most cases have no way of knowing how much time or effort their colleagues might have expended. (Kennedy, 2006)



The consensus of recent work seems to be that students are capable of assessing their own and their peers work in a way that is consistent with marks given by teaching staff (Isaacs, 2001)
