At the end of each assignment, each group of students does a peer assessment of all the members in their group including themselves. So every student would do that 3 times over the semester. (CS1)
I've experimented with asking students to allocate marks for groups and have found it not to be so successful as people have widely different ideas about marking scales. We find that their general comments about process and the actual event are more useful. And peers are very generous about that. (CS9)
The students were given an increasing level of support in peer assessment
across the 8 years in which the subject has been offered. (CS7) Prior to the staff member going in and assessing the subject, the students themselves have been in previously and self assessed. (CS10)
